NEW for 2014!
Huntsville FC will provide a more traditional
recreational environment similar to your local park or
AYSO program. We
will mix the best components of local recreational
soccer with the supervision of our professional staff
and directors of coaching.
Please see the
informational flyer for more details.
The season will open in mid-August and conclude
in late October. Full
schedule and season details will be available soon.
HFC offers soccer programs close to home! We operate our
Huntsville program from the Merrimack Soccer Complex and our Madison
operation from Palmer Park. Due to logistics - the details of
each program vary in scheduling, while maintaining the same level of
professional instruction and curriculum.
Both
programs will have a U6 and U8 program.
Thank you for your
interest in Huntsville Futbol Club. Our registration for U8 is
open all year. We are always welcoming new kids to our program.

Goals/Objectives
Jr Academy Youth Training
System goal is to prepare youth players to competitive soccer. At the
developmental age group, the focus is to establish a strong technical
base, develop athleticism/coordination, teamwork and sportsmanship.
The ultimate goal for Jr. Academy player
is to develop a love for the game.
With the love of the game comes a passion
for skill acquisition.
Training will be structured in a way that
maximizes each player’s development, through individual instruction and
multiple small-sided game situations. YTS players will compete in
appropriate game scenarios throughout the available developmental
period.
Curriculum/Plan
The age-appropriate curriculum follows the US Soccer
Best Practices and NSCAA curriculum, and is designed to develop
technical skills that can be used in tactical situations. Players are
trained in pools and as teams to allow maximum exposure to all the
coaches and age group players within the system. Detailed curriculums
are available for viewing.
Four-Pillars
-
Technical:
Individual skill and the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and
shooting are stressed at every session.
-
Tactical:
At age appropriate times, players are to understand they are part of
team and how to respond to the game
within small groups on the
field.
-
Physical:
All fitness is with the ball.
-
Psychological:
Through an enthusiastic and participating coach, players will learn
a love for the game of soccer.
Cost/Value
The Jr. Academy is a subsidized Huntsville Futbol
Club program through the Club’s fundraising efforts. The goal is to keep
the fees as low as possible to make developing a love for soccer and a
good fundamental training by certified and licensed coaches available to
everyone interested in soccer.
Practices/Games/Tournaments
U6 – U8 Players go basically twice per week and older
players gain some additional game days. U9 and up players are exposed
to minimum of two practices per week with most games occurring on the
weekends. Limited travel is introduced around 8-9 years of age for the
most advanced players. By 10 years of age, players are travelling within
a small radius for increased matches and tournament schedules.
Tournaments are on a local basis for the youngest players.
